In loving memory of Verna Horne Hodge of Valdosta, Georgia, born in Sabula, Iowa, who departed this world on September 21, 2024 at the age of 90. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ervin Paul and Adeline Cosman Harmsen; and her husbands, James Edward Horne and Hobart Alexander Hodge. She is survived by: her sons, Jim (Linnette Horne) and Mike (Cindy Horne); her grandchildren, Aaron (Casey Horne) of Valdosta, Kristin (Ryan Blount) of Clarksville, TN, Ashely (Jordyn Horne) of Hot Springs and Jeremiah Horne (Elle Vester) of Henderson, TN; her siblings, Mary Kay Peterson of Cottage Grove, Minnesota and Gary; and her sister-in-law Vicki Harmsen of Clinton, Iowa. She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 30th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
Mrs. Hodge served on the Suwannee/Hamilton Vocational Tech School Advisory Board, was a member of the Women's Club of Jasper, and the Kiwanis Club of Jasper, and volunteered for the American Cancer Society.
