She was predeceased by: her parents, James Franklin Newbern and Cora Lee Herndon Newbern; and her brother Frank Carlton Newbern. She is survived by: her husband John Knight Peters of Valdosta; her daughter Pam; her son-in-law Stan House of Valdosta; her granddaughters, Megan (Anthony Tovar) and Katelyn House of Valdosta; and her sister Carolyn Newbern Hill of Valdosta.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, or Hospice of South Georgia.
