He was predeceased by: his brother James Cleveland Pipkins; his granddaughter Mandi Corbett; and his siblings-in-law, Gwen Herring, Larry and Lloyd Herring.
He is survived by: his wife Mamie Laura Herring; his daughters, Brenda Corbett (Mark) and Beverly Highsmith (Ronald); his grandchildren, Kelly Corbett, Ashli Copeland (Erik), Mac Corbett (Brianna), Ryan Highsmith, Breanna Highsmith Crosby (Trevor) and Brooke Highsmith; his great grandchildren, Kenna Corbett of Echols County, Harper Copeland of Echols County, Judd Copeland of Echols County and Blakely Crosby of Echols County; his sister Shirley Young (James); and his niece Amy Herring Nolan (Richard).
