We are sad to announce that on February 7, 2025, at the age of 91, Mattie Lee Sanders of Valdosta, Georgia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Dewey Lee Cooper and Mary Elizabeth Lanier Cooper; and her brothers, James, Johnny and Junior Cooper.
She is survived by: her husband Bobby Sanders of Valdosta, GA; her daughter Tambra Faye "Tammy" Pope (David) of Crawfordville, FL; her grandchildren, Victoria Lee-Anna Pope of Crawfordville, FL, Curtis Russell Pope of Chesterfield, VA and David Bryan Pope, Jr. of Powhatan, VA.; her great grandchildren, Beau Charles, Wyatt, Landyn, Haven and Lorelei; her sisters, Doris and Joyce; and her sister-in-law Betty Cooper. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Calendar Greenwood Baptist Church (1645 E Park Ave, Valdosta, GA 31602). A funeral service was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
