She was predeceased by: her mother Cora LaGrone (Wells); her husband Robert Nelson; her father Ruben LaGrone, Jr. (Cora); and her siblings, Tessie LaGrone and Johnny LaGrone.
She is survived by: her son Bernard LaMont Vanpelt (Marsha); her granddaughters, Samantha and Paige Vanpelt of Valdosta, GA; and her siblings, Mary Jo Taylor (Jonesboro), Randolph LaGrone (Jonesboro), Marian LaGrone of San Bruno, CA, Ruben LaGrone III (Jonesboro), Ronald (Shirley) and Mechelle LaGrone.
