She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl D. Dowdy and Lena White Dowdy; her siblings, Roy A. Dowdy, Carl D. Dowdy Jr. and Elinor Sanson of Atlanta; and her grandson Hayden Storey of Atlanta.
She is survived by: her husband George Gilbert; and her children, Nancee Storey of Valdosta and Stuart Gilbert of Santa Clara. She is also survived by nephew and several nieces.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Calendar McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens (3945 N Valdosta Rd, Valdosta, GA 31602). A memorial service was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of South Georgia or the Lowndes County Humane Society.
