It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Louise McKinnon Battle of Valdosta, Georgia, who passed away on November 23, 2024, at the age of 67, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Booker T. McKinnon and Onedia McKinnon; her brother Jerry McKinnon; and her siblings-in-law, Samuel Battle, Jr., Ruben Battle, Janice Irvin and Gloria Battle.
She is survived by: her husband Douglas Battle of Valdosta; her children, Mattie Herring (Travis) of Valdosta, GA and Jaquon Battle of Valdosta, GA; her siblings, Katharine Anderson (Curtis) of Valdosta, GA, Larry McKinnon, Sr. (Brenda) of Valdosta, GA, Michael McKinnon of Valdosta, GA, Mary McKinnon of Valdosta, GA, Marlene McDuffie (Leroy) of Valdosta, GA, Larenda Howell of Valdosta, GA, Maxine Parnell (Emmit), Dorothy Hill (Eddie), Gloria Battle (Robert), Diana Battle (Fred Irvin) and LeRoy Butler, Jr.; and also Evelyn Howell. She is also survived by friend, Dr. Z; also a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Viewing was held on Friday, November 29th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Stevens Funeral Home, Inc. (215 E Branch St, Valdosta, GA 31601). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, November 30th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Woodlawn Forrest Church of Christ (1515 North Barack Obama Boulevard). Due to COVID-19, Stevens Funeral Home will be enforcing social distancing and following the Center for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines. We ask that anyone entering the building and attending any funeral events to please wear a mask.
