He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Alfred Metz and Inez Hughes Metts; and his former wife Janet Bilton Metts. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Metts of Valdosta; his children, Sonny Metts (Kelly) of Decatur, TN, Myra Settle (Eric Douglas) of West Point, GA, Reverend Michael Rickenbaker (Allison) of Henderson, TN and Marilyn Berry of Branchville, SC; his grandchildren, Beth Metts, Casey Metts, Shelbi Metts, Avery Metts, Greene-Smithwick, David Rickenbaker, Philip Rickenbaker, Danielle Rickenbaker-Stavely, Amber Heape and Adam Berry; and his siblings, Geraldine Miller, Joan Wegner, Don Metts and Joe Metz. He is also survived by ten great grandchildren.
