She was predeceased by: her parents, F. W. M. Shaw (Preacher) and Susie Ray Shaw; her husband James Edward Maples, Sr.; her son Eddie Maples; and her brothers, Gerald Shaw and Otis Shaw.

She is survived by: her daughters, Debbie Maples of Clinton, MS, Connie M. Lightsey (Lee) of Barney, GA, Sandy M. Morgan (Hershell) of Clinton, MS, Sherie Maples of Valdosta, GA and Brenda M. Fowler (Greg) of Hahira, GA; her grandchildren, Michelle, Melisa, Randy, Farrah, Dylan, Justin, Jimmy, Samantha, Eric and Candice; and her sister Latrelle S. Chisholm of Lakeland, GA. She is also survived by Several nieces and nephews.
