He was predeceased by: his parents, Joel R. Peters, Sr. and Marie Knight Peters; his wife Sara Peters; and his siblings, Joel R. Peters, Jr., Martha Johnson, Mary Fields, Rose Mare Bowman and Sarah Jane Peters.
He is survived by: his daughter Pam; his son-in-law Stan House of Valdosta; his grandchildren, Megan, Anthony Tovar of Ray City and Katelyn House of Valdosta; and his sister-in-law Carolyn Newbern Hill of Valdosta.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of South Georgia or to Bemiss United Methodist Church.
