It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jimmy Smith of Valdosta, Georgia, born in Lyons, Georgia, who passed away on July 8, 2021, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, James Vernon Smith and Lucy McNatt Smith; his wife Patti Sue McKinnon Smith; his grandson Jameson Smith; and his sister Martha Elizabeth Smith Taylor.

He is survived by: his children, Matt Smith of Valdosta and Kim Smith Greene; his son-in-law Cam Greene of Atlantic Beach, Florida; his grandchildren, Jake (Julie Greene), Mikaela Smith of Chicago, Connor Smith of Marietta and Georgia (Karsten Smith); his great grandchildren, Samantha Grace Greene, Elliott Wes Greene and Emory Phillip Greene of Phoenix; his grandchildren, Matt Greene and Karsten Smith; his nephew Ray McKinnon; and his great-nephews, J. D. Demott and Adam Demott.
