James left this world on December 13, 2024 at the age of 75, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, J. C. Manning, Jr. and Jacque Parker Manning; and his brother Tommy Manning. He is survived by: his wife Mary Young Manning; his son Lee Boatenreiter (Melissa); his grandsons, Carter and Converse Boatenreiter; and his siblings-in-law, Kathryn Williamson (Davis), Emily Smotherman, Fred Smotherman (Teresa) and John Smotherman (Lang). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 28th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Redeemer Presbyterian Church (3700 Val Del Rd, Valdosta, GA 31602).
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Redeemer Presbyterian Building Fund (3338 L PMB 230, Valdosta, Ga. 31605) or Lowndes County Historical Society (P. O. Box 56 Valdosta, Ga. 31603).
