He is survived by: his wife Jan Mayer of Valdosta, Georgia; his daughters, Sonya Mayer (Frank Davis) of Valdosta and Susan Herrera (Theodore) of Nashville, Georgia; his stepsons, Richard Porterfield of Valdosta and Lee Porterfield (Tracy) of Brunswick, Georgia; his grandchildren, Brooke Burke (Tyler Register), Robert Herrera, Lakyn Davis, Franklin Davis, Dr. Chase Herrera (Donielle), Chris Gill (Allison Brianna Ricker) and Hannah Porterfield; his great grandchildren, Elsie Ricker and Sutton Herrera; and his brothers, Tommy Mayer (Joan) of Quitman, Georgia and James Sutton (Caroline) of Nashville. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and special friends.
