It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gearldeen Adams Jenkins of Valdosta, Georgia, born in Douglas, Georgia, who passed away on March 31, 2024, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Bruce Adams and Mamie Williams (Soloman); her husband Leyon Jenkins; and her siblings, Carl Adams, Earl Adams, Wilton Adams, Julius Williams, Annie Ray and Yvonne Porter.
She is survived by: her children, Wayne Bruce Putnam (Liz) of Fairbanks, Alaska, Robert Franklin Putnam of Valdosta, Georgia and Valerie Jane Jenkins (Carl) of Valdosta, Georgia; and her sisters, Madeline Condrey of Columbus, Georgia and Clementine Miller (Charles) of Valdosta, Georgia. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many special friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Victory Baptist Church of Valdosta, Georgia.
