He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Benson and Vivian Moore Pierce Benson; and his siblings, Gayle Preece and Dick Pierce. He is survived by: his wife Karen Lyons Pierce of Valdosta; his children, Kimberly (Josh Lynne), Lauren Pierce (Taran Alderman) and Johnathan; his daughter-in-law Katie Pierce of Albuquerque; his grandchildren, Luke Lynne, Romy Lynne, Ava Pierce, Charleigh Pierce and Evelyn Pierce; his nephew Mike (Deana Preece); and his niece Marla (Dirk Welte).
