He was predeceased by: his father John William Simpson, Jr.; and his brother Paul Gregory Simpson. He is survived by: his mother Verlie Mae (Hooker); his son Shaun Simpson of Valdosta, GA; his stepson James R. Self, II of Valdosta, GA; his siblings, John Simpson of Valdosta, GA, Pamela Sale of Lake Park, GA and Kay Simpson of Valdosta, GA; and his cousin Kenny McDonald of Valdosta, GA.. He is also survived by Several nieces and nephews.
