With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Deacon Richard Irvin Sr. (Valdosta, Georgia), born in Clyattville, Georgia, who passed away on September 28, 2019 at the age of 91. He was predeceased by: his parents, Estella M. Smith Irvin and Collie Irvin; his daughter Cheryl D. Bivins; his siblings, Grace Hunter, Willard Irvin, Alexander Jack Irvin and Leonard Irvin, Sr.; his sons-in-law, Winston Bivins, L. C. Chandler and Oscar Williams; his sisters-in-law, Veanna Irvin and Henrietta Irvin; and his grandparents, Patience Peyton Irvin, Richard Irvin, Maggie Smith and Walter Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Clara E. Irvin; his children, Richard Irvin, Jr. (Vickie), Rufus E. Irvin (Kimberly), Carolyn E. Brailsford, Martin C. Irvin, Emma L. Moten (Hardy) and Anthony Irvin, Sr. (Carolyn); his stepson Paul Thomas (Darlene); his siblings, Marjorie Chandler, Juanita Irvin, Almarine James (Charlie), Mae Ruth Williams, Willa Matchett (Lee), Carrie Smith (Rodney) and Mitchell Irvin (Marge); and his siblings-in-law, Eddie Roy Hunter and Gwen Irvin. He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren; thirty three great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and a host of extended family, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
