She was predeceased by: her daughter Nancy Elaine Downie; her parents, A. T. "Trick" Gordon and Nola Mae Caraway Gordon; and her brothers, C. F. Gordon, Ronnie Gordon and Joe Wayne Gordon.
She is survived by: her husband Bobby Joe Newham of Uvalda; her children, Lynn Downie of Mitchell, Leigh Downie and Benson Downie of Uvalda; her brother Tommy Gordon (Dorothy) of Alston; her grandchildren, Whitney Harmon of Bacon County, Gordon Downie (Whitney) of Vidalia and Chellie Downie of Vidalia; and her great grandchildren, Jadelynn Disharoon, Jessica Bennett, Emma Downie and Jaxson Harmon. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
