It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Florence Irene Medaris of Upatoi, Georgia, born in Hyden, Kentucky, who passed away on April 28, 2022, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Hyden Wooton; her husband Gilbert Medaris; and her great grandchild Jada Williams. She is survived by: her sons, Billy James Melton (Maria) of Columbus, GA, Danny "Dan" Ray Melton (Nancy) of Phenix City, AL, Michael "Mike" Melton of Douglasville, GA and Gregg Melton of Stone Mountain, GA; her grandchildren, Shawnya, Staci, Sherrie, Jason, Amber, Kim and Casey; her great grandchildren, Shayla, Mikhail, Bailey, Joshua, Wren and Irene; and her great great grandchild Maci.
