He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Nelson of Unadilla; his children, Carl Edward "Eddie" Nelson, Jr. (Molly) of Unadilla and Kim McLendon (Travis) of Hawkinsville; his sister Annie Maude Nelson of Unadilla; his grandchildren, April Holmes (Alex), Spencer Nelson (Julie), Dustin McLendon (Macy), Makayla Heath (Alex) and Conner McLendon; and his pets, Rascal and Jaxon.
