He was predeceased by: his parents, W. C. Wilkes and Catherine Smarr Wilkes; his son-in-law Jonathan Windham; his brother Chester; and his sister-in-law Juanita Wilkes.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce J. Wilkes of Unadilla; his daughters, Dana Wilkes of Jonesboro and Caron Windham of Cordele; his grandsons, Matthew Windham (Anna) of Waynesville, NC and Joshua Windham of Marietta; and his great grandchild Madelyn Windham of Waynesville, NC.
A memorial service was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Cabin Behind the Family Residence (925 Barbershop Rd, Unadilla, GA 31091).
