He is survived by: his wife Mary Jane Barron; his children, Garlan Furin (Brandt) of Atlanta, Gretchen Barron of Portland, OR and Graham Barron (Lynsey) of Atlanta; his sister Beryl Smith (Mike) of Concord, NC; and his grandchildren, Caroline Furin and Luke Barron.
