He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Wilkerson and Willie Maude Arnold Wilkerson; and his siblings, Catherine Garvin, Roy Wilkerson, Jr., Jimmy Lee Wilkerson, Tommy Wilkerson and Bobby Ray Wilkerson.

He is survived by: his children, Virginia Steels of Ellabelle, GA., Earl Wilkerson of Claxton, GA, Joe Wilkerson of Metter, GA and Dean Wilkerson; and his sisters, Minnie Lanier of Millen, GA., Vera Henderson of Swainsboro, GA., Jean Sheppard of Swainsboro, GA., Brenda Coleman of Canoochee, GA. and Diane Strickland of Canoochee, GA..
