He was predeceased by: his parents, B. D. Whitfield, Jr. and Charlotte Dasher Whitfield. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Braswell Whitfield; his siblings, Janice Hinely (David) of Charlotte, NC and Bennett Whitfield (Linda); his nieces, Kristen Mosley (Allen) and Melissa Porter (Howard); his sibling Amorette Reid of Charlotte, NC; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Railyn, Allie Porter, Peyton Mosley, Issac Mosley, Whit Porter and Preston Reid. He is also survived by numerous other nieces and nephews; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
