He was predeceased by: his parents, James E. Motley Sr. and Elizabeth; his sister Oita Motley; his daughter Alice Faye Summey; his brother Robert Motley; and his sister-in-law Dot Motley.
He is survived by: his wife Alice J. Motley; his children, Vonda Blansit (Jeff) of Ringgold, Teressa McCullough (Lexie Mitchel), Denise McCullough of Tunnel Hill, Kathy Holloway (Dan) of Madisonville, TN., Christopher Lee Motley (Carol Lowery) of Ringgold, Joshua Motley (Shay) of Villanow and James Jenkins (Melanie) of Dalton; and his siblings, Ann Hooper of Ringgold, Loretta Stinnett of Chatsworth, Janie Davenport of Ringgold, Donna Kennemer of Dalton, Deana Motley of Chatsworth, Carlos Motley of Fort Oglethorpe, Elroy Motley (Juanita) of Lafayette and Larry Motley (Sherry) of Tunnel Hill. He is also survived by Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
