He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Penley and Harriett Penley; and his siblings, Jessie Fricks, Bob Penley and Gene Penley.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Nell Penley; his daughter Marla; his son-in-law Tim Hines of Pelham, AL; his son Michael Penley of Atlanta; his brother Bill; his sister-in-law Doris Penley of Tunnel Hill; and his grandchildren, Kacie Hines and Jacob Hines. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
