He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Ellis and Mattie Bell Prescott Harris; his son Roger Harris; his siblings, Virgil Harris, Vera (Gene Presswood) and Mary (Clayron Burgess); and his sister-in-law Juanita Harris.

He is survived by: his wife Doris Brock Harris; his children, Bobby (Janice Harris), Randy (Shannon Harris), Pam (Jerry McMillan) and Deborah (David King); and his brother Charles Leo Harris of Dalton, GA. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren nieces and nephews.
