He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Hensley and Edna Dean Hensley; his brothers, Walter Hensley and Armer Hensley; and his grandson Michael Josh Tackett.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Welch Hensley; his son Jeff; his daughter-in-law Jami Hensley of Calhoun, GA; his daughters, Shawna (Mike Tackett), Angie (Adam Howard) and Melissa (Mark Mayberry); his siblings, Debbie (Jim Stewart), Joann Napier, Anita (Danny Boling) and Randy; and his sister-in-law Della Hensley of Dallas, GA. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 12th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Ponders Funeral Home - Dalton (138 Melrose Dr, Dalton, GA 30721). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 12th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
