He was predeceased by: his parents, Lindsey Jefferson and Josie Bell Newton Metcalf; his brothers, Lindsey Metcalf and Melvyn Metcalf; and his siblings-in-law, Diane Manis and Bobby Goswick.
He is survived by: his wife Sherrie Goswick Metcalf; his daughters, Krista (Michael Hicks) and Farrah (Greg Westerholm); his grandchildren, Christopher, Dr. Emily Gantz Hicks, Katie Hicks, Kinsey, Ethan Terry, Mason Westerholm and Kehlan Westerholm; his great grandchildren, Mary Emma Hicks, Hampton Hicks, Annie Terry and Grady Wayne Terry; and his siblings-in-law, Pat Metcalf of Varnell, GA, Barbara Metcalf of Dalton, GA, Annette of Dalton, GA and Kevin Burke of Dalton, GA. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and many friends.
