He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Emma Wright; his son Jerry Dewayne Wright; his grandson Scott Cully; and his siblings, Jessie Wright, Louise Guidrey, Rosa Lee Chastain, Viola Edgeman, Edith Wallin and Bessie Wright.
He is survived by: his children, David Wright of Tunnel Hill, GA., Debra Wright of Rock Spring, GA. and Garry Wright (Kathy) of Sanford, FL.; his brother W. B. Wright Jr. of Ringgold, GA.; and his grandchildren, Becky Wright, Jennifer Keck (Chris), Patti Levan (Eric), Bri Vallamizar-Wright (Ivan) and Jennifer Wright. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
