He is survived by: his brother James T.; his sister-in-law Judith Harrelson of Kansas City; his siblings, John Harrelson and Connie Holt; and his sisters-in-law, Juanita Harrelson and Linda Harrelson. He is also survived by several nephews and nieces.

“Bless you Sherry. It sounds like David was blessed to have you as a friend. I met David in 1973 in Missouri and we became wonderful friends. He became the brother I never had. When he started taking hot air balloon lessons in Kansas City I went down there with him and got to fly with him on his first solo. It was so sad for me when he moved to Georgia. I visited him a couple of times down there and of course saw him when he’d come back home. Wish we hadn’t lost touch. I just heard. So sad.”
