He was predeceased by: his parents, Denton Purcell and Virgie York Coker; his sons, Jerry Grogan and Ricky Purcell; and his former wife Amy Gurley Purcell.
He is survived by: his wife Geneva Pierce Purcell; his children, Mark Grogan (Lori), James Grogan (Nancy), Roger Dale Whitaker, Faye Hurley (Donald), Jean Rollings (Barry), Angela Siffles (Robert) and Donna Curts (Gene); and his siblings, Julian Coker (Linda) and Pam Purcell. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Due to the current health concerns for the community, those in attendance are asked to keep in mind the current guidelines and restrictions set forth by the C. D. C. as it pertains to social gatherings including the use of face masks and hand sanitizer.
