He was predeceased by: his parents, John Carl Grimes, Sr. and Dorothy Francis Murphy Grimes; his wife Ruth Hazel White Grimes; and his sister Brenda Headrick. He is survived by: his daughter Kathy Grimes; his nephew David Headrick; and also, Jody Thompson, Montyne and Verlon Thompson.
