It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Callie Marie Slayton of Trion, Georgia, born in Centre, Alabama, who passed away on March 16, 2023, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, J. C. Thomas and Violet Hunter; her husband Harold Charles Slayton; her siblings, Buck Hunter and Mary Ann Wells; and her great grandchildren, JoAnna Grace Shafer, John David Shafer and Sawyer Hunter Shafer.
She is survived by: her children, Tommy Slayton and Tammy Shafer (Stanley); her grandchildren, Brandi Barr, Tyler Shafer, Brittany Slayton, Lacey Barr, Dylan Bryson, Cody Slayton, Kelby Slayton and Callie C. Slayton; and her great grandchildren, Zoey Slayton, Ryleigh Slayton, Kovin Slayton, Cason Gill and Chip Shafer.
