It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Steve Leon Combs of Trenton, Georgia, born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, who passed away on September 16, 2024, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his mother Bettye Summerford; his stepfather Howard Summerford; and his father Roy Combs. He is survived by: his wife Sherry West Combs; his sons, Kyle and Kasay Combs (Christie); his siblings, Paul Summerford (Cheryl) and Brenda Tully; his brother-in-law Bill West (Sherron); and his grandchildren, Kayla Deck and Hunter Mullins. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation was held on Friday, September 20th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, September 21st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Ryan Funeral Home and Crematory (11415 S Main St, Trenton, GA 30752). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 21st 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project or the American Legion Post #106.

Even though we both ended at opposite ends to the Southern Railway CNO&TP line, Him in Chattanooga and me in Danville, Ky, he always found the time to call and catchup. I always considered him as my friend and I do regret I and my wife Joyce didn't get to meet and get to know you both better. Love and peace to you both. Mark”
