He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Long and Virgie Gass Long; his wife Betty Jo Long; and his siblings, Otto, Allen Long and Pauline Sanders.

He is survived by: his daughters, Kendra Sharp (Jason) and Kecia Guffey (Matthew Guffey); his brother David Long; and his grandchildren, Grayson Sharp (Katelyn Connar), Garrett Sharp (Josie), Ashton Saylors (Blake) and Abby Guffey.
