With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Kelly D. Gilbert of Trenton, Georgia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 25, 2024 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his mother Lucy Thomas. He is survived by: his stepfather Ralph; his brother Bob; his children, Paul and Carla; his children-in-law, Susan and Tim; his grandchildren, Grace (Brandon), Maggie, Jack, Virginia, Alex and Liam; his brother Zonnie Gilbert; and his siblings-in-law, Ron Mitchell and Sara Mitchell Deberry. He is also survived by his family and friends.

His contribution to every family/friend gathering was his famous hand-cranked, homemade ice cream.

“Kelly was a special friend to me and my husband for several decades. First meeting when we all lived in East Ridge, we enjoyed visiting in each others' homes through the years, going out to dinner, and especially hiking in the mountains together on Mount Leconte and at Amicalola Falls. Kelly was ever a faithful friend we could depend on. I shall always cherish the times we shared with Kelly and Lyn. Their friendship was a true blessing. May the God of all comfort fill you with His peace.”
