It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Melvin William Lewis Sr. of Townsend, Georgia, born in Moorefield, West Virginia, who passed away on October 23, 2021, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Lee Lewis and Lillie Mae Cook (Helmick); his sons, Dale Lewis and Melvin Lewis Jr.; his siblings, Arthur Lewis, Jimmy Cook, Cletus Lewis Sr. and Bertha Fitzwater; and his granddaughter Brittney Lewis.
He is survived by: his sisters, Shirley Palmer (Joseph) of Winchester, VA and June Bare (Alton) of Broadway, VA.; and his children, David Lewis (Brenda), Philip Lewis (Gidget) of Mathias, WV, Wayne Lewis (Kathy) of Timberville, VA., Anita Lewis of Mathias, WV, Margaret Zier (Peter) of Lingolsheim and France.
