We are sad to announce that on July 22, 2022, at the age of 93, Sara Childs of Toccoa, Georgia, born in Stephens, Georgia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Lee and Sadie Woods Heaton; her husband Charlie Ray Childs, Sr.; her daughter Cheryl Kennedy; and her siblings, Lois Martin, Dorothy Heaton (Tim), Harold Heaton and Carlton Heaton.
She is survived by: her children, Peggy Vaughn (Gary) of Toccoa, Claude Childs (Susan) of Toccoa and Charlie Ray Childs, Jr. (Rhonda) of Toccoa; her son-in-law James Kennedy of Carnesville, GA; her siblings, Betsy Yearwood of Toccoa, John Heaton of Toccoa and Jerry Heaton of Toccoa; her grandchildren, Gina Murley (Chris), April Stallings (Josh), Byron Kennedy, Josh Vaughn, Katie Brown (Andy), Joni Whitfield (Wes), Dr. Christopher Childs (Lisa Vences), Chandler Childs and Clayton Childs; and her great grandchildren, Adalee Brown, Titus Brown, Ezra Brown, Abby Whitfield, Jake Whitfield, Colby Ayers, Lindsey Ayers, Mason Stallings, Ansley Murley, Sophia Murley and Jaxson Murley.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tates Creek Baptist Church.
