He was predeceased by: his parents, L. E. Alford, Sr. and Elizabeth Alderman Alford; his wife Grace Tropf Alford; and his siblings, Evelyn Alford, Coline Alford and L. E. Alford, Jr..
He is survived by: his daughters, Rebecca Grace Zuch (John) of Wake Forest, NC and Sharon Ann Crosby (Jarvis) of Toccoa; and his grandchildren, Sharon Lohr (Jason), Kristina Jones (Robert), Sarah Schell (Forest), Mallery Jordan (Joshua), John Zuch (Jessica) and Paul Crosby (Sarah).
