He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Garland and Fannie Lou Miller Garland; his sisters, Betty Garland Looney (Herbert) and Barbara Hornick (Howard); and his brothers-in-law, Reeves Harrison and Joe Williams.
He is survived by: his siblings, J. C. "Diggy" (Angie Garland) of Toccoa, Harold (Rita Garland) of Toccoa, Roger Garland (Cathy Cronic), Carol Harrison of Eastanollee and Ruth Williams of Toccoa; and his close friends, Ruth and Jack Pitts. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice in memory of Mr. James Arthur "Jim" Garland.
