She was predeceased by: her parents, Harrison Hare and Margie Cooper Hare. She is survived by: her daughter Doris; her son-in-law Freddy Owens of Rutledge, Georgia; her sons, Teddy Benfield of Rutledge and David; her daughter-in-law Andrea Benfield of Toccoa; and her sisters, Jeanette Holbrooks of Toccoa and Velma Carswell of Toccoa. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
