He was predeceased by: his parents, Bennie Marvin Hulsey and Reba Fountain Hulsey; his wife Henrietta Gillen Hulsey; and his siblings, Shelton Hulsey and Becky Bryant.

He is survived by: his friend Bill Good of Toccoa; his stepson Gary Smith of Cornelia; and his nephews, Jason Bryant of Alto and Ben Hulsey of Lula.
