He is survived by: his spouse Kathy Mize Chitwood; his children-in-law, Kim Irvin and Shawn Chitwood; his brother-in-law Brenda Garrett of Cornelia; his brother Danny Chitwood of Clarkesville; his sister-in-law Janice of Clarkesville; his grandchildren, Kaylie Mize, Zachary Chitwood, Nicole Barrett, Bailey Chitwood, Brei Irvin and Katrina Whitfield; and also, Todd Gunn of Alto, Tonya Gunn of Alto, Michele Mize of Cornelia, Stacy Mize of Toccoa and Quincy Blackburn. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
