It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Virginia Elizabeth Petty Dorminey of Tifton, Georgia, born in Palatka, Florida, who passed away on March 1, 2023, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Grady Petty and Lalla Queen Edwards Petty; her husband Henry Clayton "Cap" Dorminey; her stepmother Sue Carter Petty; and her siblings, Polly Petty Sharp (late Leonard) and Eugene Petty.
She is survived by: her siblings, Robert Petty (Mildred) of Atlanta, GA and Joyce Petty Owens (late Bill) of Pisgah Forest, NC; her nephews, Dr. Henry Clayton "Clay" Dorminey (Jo), John Edward "Edd" Dorminey (Janice) and James Richard Dorminey; her grandchildren, Jennifer Dorminey Herzog (Scott), Jeanine Dorminey Webster (Luke) and Tyler Richard Dorminey (Gina); her great grandchildren, Virginia, Jana Webster, Will Webster, Hobbs Webster, Cora Webster, Bess Herzog (Herzog), Ryan Dorminey and Jake Dorminey; and also, Janice Rhyne, Eddie Mae Golson and Jo Ann McCray. She is also survived by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
