He was predeceased by: his parents, Morris Franklin and Nellie Williams Franklin; and his brothers, Junior Franklin and Bobby Franklin. He is survived by: his children, Heather Eskew (Matt) of Tarzan, TX, Nicole Cobb (Matthew) of Ty Ty, GA and Travis Jacob Franklin of Tifton, GA.; and his siblings, Deborah Lowery, Johnnie Franklin and Patricia Flippo.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Tift area, 618 N. Central Avenue, Tifton, GA 31794.
