He was predeceased by: his former wife Nancy Butcher Hightower; his grandson Wyatt Dillard; and his siblings-in-law, Jimmy Mullis and Leslie Carswell. He is survived by: his wife Rosemary Carswell Hightower; his children, Laura, Will Roberts, Debbi Dillard, Alicia and Jason Coarsey; his siblings, Yvonne Mullis of Tifton and Dennis; and his siblings-in-law, Kathy Hightower of Ridgeland, Jim Bass of Tifton, Herschel Carswell of Jacksonville Beach, Florida and Terri Carswell of Nashville, Tennessee. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
