He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer Connell and Lenora Giddens Connell; his parents-in-law, Nathan and Wynell Soles; his son Ronald Jason Connell, Jr. (Ronnie); his sisters, Vivian Connell and Doris Tomlinson; and his siblings-in-law, Albert Tomlinson, Jimmy Fountain and Brenda Connell.
He is survived by: his wife Evonne Soles Connell; his daughter Melissa Johnston (Jason); his granddaughters, Anna Connell, Elizabeth Connell and Ella Claire Johnston; his siblings, Carolyn Danforth (P. H.), Jack Connell and Jeston Connell (Fay); his siblings-in-law, Johnny Soles (Connie), Tracey Soles (Wendy) and Helen Fountain (Lawrence Tucker); his family Christian; and also, Christine Dixon and Nancy Connell. He is also survived by nephews and nieces.
