She was predeceased by: her parents, Claude William Cauthen and Mary Olivia Heath Cauthen; her husband A. W. Sumner; her sister Inez; and her brothers-in-law, Charles McCranie and Harold Beard.
She is survived by: her daughters, Connie Sumner of Tifton and Sonya Sumner of Tifton; her sisters, Ruth Beard of Tifton and Nell; and her brother-in-law Allen Howell of Taylors. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
