He is survived by: his wife Alice Pittman Pennington of Tifton; his sons, Carl Pennington, Lindsay Pennington of Powder Springs, David Pennington and Cammie Pennington of Williamson; his siblings, Al Pennington of Roanoke, Virginia and Nancy Pennington of Roanoke, Virginia; his niece Leah Funk; his nephew John Funk; and his grandchildren, Abigail Pennington, Reece Pennington, Hope Pennington, Brett Pennington, Kodi Pennington, Luke Pennington, Grayson Pennington, Brady Pennington, Landon Jones and Brooks Jones.
